3 0-impact bitters
If the culture of km0 has become part of the culinary philosophy of every part of the world, or so it seems, in order to keep up with the changes even the supporters of good drinking are rediscovering lovers of “local” drinks. At La Plage Resort today we bring you three Sicilian versions of one of the longest-lived drinks: amaro on the rocks.
Drinking km0: it's already a trend in Sicily
Knowing how to enhance the products of the territory is one of the favorite missions of Italian Cuisine, and in the same wake also Bartender, Sommelier and Mixologyst in 2024 prefer local products. For the past few years in Sicily, more specifically in the Taormina area, some catering businesses in collaboration with drinking experts have consolidated the philosophy of km0, offering their customers drinks from the territory that best tell the story of an island and the work of the people and producers who have made it their home.
Our Bartender Enzo Verga's proposals.
“Ice cubes,” ‘a stretch to the drink,’ ‘the twist to release odors,’ the key expressions of a simple preparation that contains the flavor of the Island. Enzo Verga, Bartender at La Plage Resort in Taormina, offers us three Sicilian bitters. He begins with Amara, sympathetic in name and fresh in taste, made in the Catania area with P.G.I. oranges, it leaves an exquisite hint of jasmine in the mouth. He fills the dispenser, pours it into the glass with ice and serves it with a dry orange. As a second proposal he chooses.
